Raza is an independent hip hop artist, producer, and motivational speaker from Auburn, California, a small town outside of Sacramento.

While Raza is new to the scene, he has worked with Futuristic and Mark Battles and performed at shows with Akil the Emcee from Jurassic 5, Bru Lei, J Ross Parrelli, and more.

Born and raised in the greater Sacramento area, Raza had a rough start to life and was in the foster care system by age one. Although he was one of the “lucky ones” adopted at the age of three, a happy childhood was not in the cards. The adoptive family who took in Raza and his biological siblings lived on a remote property and kept them isolated from the outside world in an environment rampant with emotional and physical abuse. It was here that Raza first experienced music as his safe place, in the form of a broken old keyboard that helped drown out the world. After years stuck in that devastating situation, Raza escaped from this so-called “family” and was emancipated by the court as the adoptive father was thrown into prison. He was a mere fifteen years old. While others his age were worrying about their first year of high school, Raza had to learn how to house, feed, and fend for himself. He was determined to graduate high school, though it meant surviving periods of homelessness and his English teacher agreeing to let him submit a rap song for his big writing assignment (shout out to Ms. B-Ridge!). Following high school, Raza lost sight of his goals and dreams and fell into addiction. Addiction and undiagnosed health issues eventually landed him in a hospital bed at UC Davis. It was in that hospital bed that Raza made the promise to stop wasting his life if he was given a second chance. Though he still fights health challenges to this day, he did get out of that hospital bed and he kept that commitment. He overcame drug addiction and poured himself back into pursuing his music dreams.

As the first person in his family to graduate college, Raza carries a Bachelor of Science in Audio Production from Full Sail University.

He now spends all of his time as an independent recording artist releasing fresh, original music that is identifiable for its deep lyricism and beats that make you want to move. When not making music in his studio, Raza can be found sharing his story and music in schools, juvenile halls, and at youth conferences to inspire others that they too can turn their pain into power by making positive choices now to shape the lives they want in the future.
